Aims and contexts.
Our target audience was mainly teenagers male and females up to mainstream, 16-24, our film does not target once particular gender, so its open for everyone to watch, and it is based around teen’s and the early twenties so that the audience can emotionally interact with the characters.
Our film aims to create fear and tension within the audience and to make sure they remember our film for being a post apocalyptic horror, we aim to do this with the use of our stylistic techniques, for example sound and editing.
Our sound has been influenced by 28 days later, with particular reference to John Murphy. We are going to use certain genre conventions, for example the contrasting editing, and have shots of zombies throughout, using hand held camera shots, blood and quick shots.
My role I am going to take in the film, is director and editor, I will be in charge of overseeing the whole film and making sure the shooting goes according to plan, and how I would like it, then I will put the clips together in the editing room.
Last year I learned about the stylistic techniques and I will be applying them to my film to help convey my ideas, for example how different camera angles can convey meaning depending on the type of genre, i.e. hand held cameras can show confusion or be used in a chase to show a struggle. This year I hope to learn how to effectively create a film with my desired conventions and stylistics, and whether or not my film will be successful, and if the outcome will be how I intended it to be from the very beginning.
